DISTRICT ACTION PLAN GOALS, 2006-2007
In accordance
with my intended
Goals and Priorities as a Governor-Elect Candidate and the clear
mandate
evident by our election, I propose the following District Goals for the
Texas-Oklahoma District during the Kiwanis year, 2006-2007. These clear objectives and essential goals
are the on-going responsibilities and purpose of service upon which “We
Build.”
It is only by a
united spirit,
clear purpose and ‘one team’ effort that our organization will grow,
serve, and
endure. We must return not only to the
resources of community service and membership growth and success, but
also a
united return to sound leadership principles, fellowship, and
confidence in our
mission and our future.
1. Opportunity
Calling. We have the opportunity
to serve Kiwanis on a worldwide basis
through our
District, Divisions and Clubs! Opportunity is calling each of us.
2. Membership
Matters. Membership emphasis is
toward growth and stability.
Membership
growth teams in each Division, composed of a Division Membership
Chair and Club
Membership Chairs from each club, are to be chaired by the Division
Lt. Governor and
are to work with an assigned TAG Team member.
This group will
work with each
club in the Division to grow membership, retain current members
and build new
clubs.
3. Community
Service. A sound, clear,
determined and pro-active community service
program to
promote the name of Kiwanis. Kiwanis
must be marketed at all times to
get the name
recognized. With more recognition, the
desire to join a winning team
that helps
provide needs for everyone in the community.
Membership will grow
when people know
what Kiwanians do to improve the quality of life.
4. Financial
Stability and Responsibility. Prioritized
and demonstrated from ‘the top
down.’ Sound fiscal policies
and expectations
coordinated with respective growth in
membership,
service, foundations and administrative cost.
Timely and accurate
accountability. Frequent
review
and revision as necessary. An informed
and
involved
District Board.
5. Participation
and Reward. Specific, realistic
and appropriate expectations for
membership
participation in all organization events.
District and International
emphasis on
attendance and contribution by leadership.
Obtainable goals and
distinguished
awards criteria supported by clear guidance, unchanging standards
and
example. Earned by performance, not
given by quota.
