Dear Texas-Oklahoma Kiwanians:
I sincerely want to serve this great T-O District as Governor, and after much urging from many fellow Kiwanians, I am a candidate for Governor-Elect, 2007-2008. Many of you know that I previously served as Governor. When that year ended, I felt like there was still so much I wanted to help this district accomplish. I believe that having that experience will certainly give me greater insight to leading the district once again.
As Governor-Elect, I want to help provide a continuum of service/leadership from Governor-Designate Jerry Ward’s 2007-2008 year, through the year I would serve, 2008-2009, and into the following year.
Who are we? WE ARE KIWANIS! What do we do? We Serve the Children Of The World.
That is who we are and what we do. If elected to serve as Governor, I will work with the Lt. Governors and club leaders to grow the clubs, divisions, and the district through greater service and visibility. The service projects performed by Kiwanians in this District are touching thousands of lives annually. If others in the community learn about or see what we do through service, they will be asking to be a part of this great service organization.
We are all aware that our clubs need to grow. I am committed to increasing membership through appealing to younger men and women who are looking for opportunities to use their talents to serve others. I want to help young Kiwanians grow personally, professionally, and as Kiwanians through opportunities to serve not only through their clubs, but also in the divisions and in district chair positions.
Some of the most exciting and inspiring members of the Kiwanis Family are the Service Leadership organizations: CKI, Key Club, Builders Club, K-Kids, and AKtion Club. Their energy and volunteerism is inspiring. I want to help them to grow, build more clubs, and be motivated to be future Kiwanians.
I hope you are as proud as I am to be a Kiwanian. In September, 2007, I will complete 20 years of perfect attendance in my club. Of the Six Objects of Kiwanis, my favorite has always been the fifth one, because it best describes what we do:
To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring
friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
I want to help this district give more people the opportunity to experience what this Object says by building our membership and finding new ways of service.
As a dedicated Kiwanian, I am committed to bringing this great Texas-Oklahoma District to prominence through listening and sharing your ideas, sharing ways we can grow, uniting our Kiwanis Family members, and encouraging the ideals of the fifth Object of Kiwanis.
Yours in Kiwanis service,
Nancy Miller
